Active principle
Lipid oxidation begins as soon as fat is exposed to oxygen, heat, light and metal ions, and it accelerates through processing and storage. The measurable consequences are lower metabolizable energy from the fat fraction, loss of vitamins A, D, E and of carotenoid pigments, reduced palatability, and the formation of peroxides and secondary oxidation products that the animal then has to handle. Rendered products, fish meal, and high-oil ingredients present the highest risk.
*All products, services, and recommendations are country-dependent and may differ based on local compliance.
Apply at the earliest point in the chain where oxidation can start. For rendered fats and fish meal that is the rendering or crushing plant, and the answer is Santoquin Liquid or Q4T. For premixes and complete feed, dosing happens at blending or at the mixer, and the answer is Mixture 6 or Max.
