OPGenius
A quick, easy-to-use, reliable kit to asses the risk of Eimeria infestations on your farm
Collect. Measure. Improve.
OPGenius with MiniFlotac® technique helps you assess the number of OPG
(oocysts per gram) on each house floor. It gives you a quick snapshot
of the current status and helps you make decisions for the future health
and productivity of your flock.
How does the OPGenius work?
Our user guide shows you how to correctly collect fecal samples. The samples are then processed using the Mini-FLOTAC apparatus, which separates the oocysts from the fecal material. The parasites can then be counted under a microscope. The data obtained from this process helps in assessing the severity of the infection and monitoring the effectiveness of treatment.
What do you need?
You only need a 1,000x microscope. EW Nutrition provides the rest in your OPGenius kit.
What is the Mini-FLOTAC technique?
It is a sensitive, reproducible copromicroscopic method that helps producers prepare fecal samples and count OPG (oocysts per gram of feces) under the microscope.
This is a scientific method with large-scale validation: “Over 50 scientific publications on the validation of the Mini-FLOTAC and Fill-FLOTAC have been published in international journals having a high citation index, whilst the Standard Operating Procedures of the technique have been published in Nature Protocols (8). Thus, the Mini-FLOTAC technique can be situated at level 9 on the Technology Readiness Level scale” (Maurelli et al, 2020).
